His Wedding Band Choices

Posted by kay kamal at 3:07 PM

Since my darling Luqman is particularly hard to please when it comes to buying him things..i guess its best for him to choose it himself. However, I came across these beautiful designs that i think he might like. He is the type of person who like simple yet complicated things that doesnt have the "trying-to-hard" look yet has very intricate details.

One more thing that stands in the middle of the way is the fact that we dun have cash to splurge on.So buying him a titanium or platinum ring is waaay outta the league. They are many silver ones but  i think they fade too fast. In no time the lustre and sparkle is lost.

In the jewelry market that caters to the general population, most couple wedding bands are made of white gold which again is a problem for us since Muslim men are not allowed to wear jewelry made of Gold.

Just in case some of you are wondering, white gold is still gold. The atomic content is Aurum and the atomic number is 79.So what makes white gold so controversial? is it a different type of gold? Is it wearable for Muslim Men? They are actually gold alloys that look white rather than yellow. The white colour is achieved by careful choice of the alloying metals, which bleach the deep yellow of pure gold. Thus in the end, it is still gold. You have to remember that when you wear white gold, in time it will turn to yellow gold (ini adalah pengalaman peribadi saya).

Platinum itu apa pulak? It is an element with atomic number 78 and the chemical symbol is Pt. A dense, ductile, precious, gray-white transition metal, platinum is resistant to corrosion and occurs in some nickel and copper ores along with some native deposits. Platinum is used in jewelry, laboratory equipment, electrical contacts and electrodes, platinum resistance thermometers, dentistry equipment, and catalytic converters.

In conclusion, platinum are Halal to be worn by Muslim men..so, to whoever that has some extra bucks to spare..platinum is a much better choice compared to silver as the beuty and shine lasts longer. It is also less resistant to scratch so caring it is less painful.

So,i guess ill start my tedious journey in searching him the perfect ring..wish me luck!

i bought a suasa ring for my husband. more valuable than silver. quite expensive too. but there are two types of suasa--yellow and white ones. people from jewelery shops said the yellow one is mixed with gold (hence the color) and the white one is pure suasa. I bought my husband the white one. men do wear the yellow ones too, though, coz i think it's okay if the gold is mixed, like, it's okay for men to wear mixed silk. that's what people say la.. i personally am not sure..

I bought platinum, but really its not as easy to take care of as ABC. Knowing men, they are quite rough.
so my point is, buy something thats totally worth it. It doesnt matter whether its platinum, silver or even anything.
When you see HIS ring, you guys will know :)
buy immediately! :)

Hi kay, I'm your silence reader ^^....

I'm also on my way to buy the ring. herm, I did the study as well abt the suasa/silver/platinum. There is not really a 'hukum' for suasa. So daripada ragu2, it's better to avoid it ^^. So, I choose platinum hence we need to pay more. takpelah kan...for our love one. Tapi silver tu sunnah rasulullah..

I did some survey; herm, I bet you know habib is having promotion. So last weekend I've been there(by my own) surveying for the ring. mcm eija cakap kan, one it's the one, dari mata turun ke hati, then u know it's the one for you^^. the actual price was RM3.5k+, tapi after 50%off RM1.8k; out of my budget tapi seyes smart giler ^^. herm, ade yg sy survey at s'pore(because I'm working here), the price sangat tak tahan lah....mahalnyer....then I also found platinum plated with silver. ha, yang nie quite much cheaper than full platinum. Tapi tak brape nak cun lah ^^....herm, pening jugak nie kan....So cam ner skung? dh jumpe?

in my case..i da ade entry baru here.. sneek peek..hehe.alhamdulillah si cerewet da jumpe yg berkenan di hati.

silver is nice tapi not that durable. senang calar. i pnah dulu2 masa zaman skolah suke pakai silver jewelry thats y.

ade a gurl she bought stainless steel. turned out REAL nice but in my case we both are allergic to semiprecious metals so takle pakai. will cause us to itch like monkeys on lice attack! u can see hers here
